Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies is know for his aggressive play and at times enormous swings. This morning, the Finnish PLO pro hit one of his worst losing streaks in months, leading him to a $493,864 loss.
Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies this morning experienced somewhat of a nightmare session, following a return to the
high stakes PLO tables on PokerStars.
The Finnish high roller has been absent from the biggest ring games for while, but seemingly decided that Thursday morning was the right time for him to give the nosebleed action another shot.
However, following a nightmarish session of 1,574 hands, the Sahamies registered one of his biggest single losing days in several months, eventually logging off with a massive $493,864 loss.
According to
Highstakesdb.com, Sahamies was facing a number of regulars during his run, including "bernard-bb", Ben "toweliestar" Spindler, and Rafael "refaelamit" Amit, who all registered big profits from the encounter.
The biggest winner was "bernard-bb", who managed to take home more than $150,000 from 1,927 hands.
Sahamies, who played under his "Ilari FIN" PokerStars moniker, was later seen asking Viktor "Isildur1" Blom for action, telling the Swedish Team PokerStars pro that he was "tilted" from the bad run earlier on the day.
The losing streak is by far the biggest of all high stakes players this year, and will leave "Ziigmund" among the very biggest losers of the year.
Only a handful of players have so far lost more than $500,000 in 2012, among them Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond, who now top the overall yearly losers list.
In the other end of the rankings, Jens "Jeans89" Kyllönen continues as the biggest winner of the year with profits of $1,009,480, followed by "patpatman", who is up $973,130 so far.
