The 2010 WSOP Main Event champion, Jonathan Duhamel, has won the $5,000 NLHE side event at the PCA. The win, which came after beating Jason Mercier and Pius Heinz on the final table, earned the Canadian $239,830.
2010 WSOP champion Jonathan Duhamel has added yet another significant tournament win to his resume after taking down the $5,000 PCA NLHE side event late last night.
The 24-year-old Duhamel entered the 158-player field after busting out of the $10,000 Main Event, and went on to qualify for a strong final table, consisting of among others
Jason Mercier and Pius Heinz.
None of the two however managed to stop Duhamel, who instead went on to win the event after beating fellow Canadian Edward Kim heads-up.
The win earned Duhamel a solid $239,830 first prize cheque, as well as his third cash during the 2012 PCA.
The first cash came in the $100,000 Super High Roller, where the Canadian Team PokerStars pro took home $313,000 for ending in fourth place.
Just three days later, this was followed by a fifth place in the $5,000 Turbo event for $17,990, bringing his total net cashes during the series to more than $550,000.
Additionally, the win is Duhamel's second in a larger side event to an EPT Main Event in less than one year, after he won the €10,000 High Roller at the EPT Deauvillle last January, taking home an even $200,000.
