Mike 'The Mouth' Matusow has caused controversy among Florida's
poker players with his trademark strong opinions and talent for controversial statements.
Matusow is in Florida to teach at one of his Deepstack University Live seminars, a training scheme which offers strategy lessons and high-end teaching of sophisticated poker knowledge by 'The Mouth' himself.
While the locals in Florida seem to have taken the concept to heart, paying close to $500 per session, they are also likely to have been offended by Matusow's latest statements in which the pro told Nick Sortal of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that "in Florida, you're dealing with a lot of raw players, and they're terrible. For example, too many play ace-jack or ace-ten under the gun".
Florida has recently had a change in state law which removed a $100 buy-in limit at the state's poker tables. According to the ever-controversial Matusow, it is these conditions that has allowed Florida's poker players to develop their bad habits as there was until now too little risk of loss.
