Negreanu is rumoured to be next in line to take on''Isildur1'' in the fourth installment of the SuperStar Showdown. Yesterday he was seen playing a mini-format of the Superstar Showdown challenge.
Next in line to duel Viktor ''Isildur1'' Blom in the so-called SuperStar Showdown challenge might be the Canadian superstar
Daniel Negreanu.
A challenge to be played over 2,500 hands of NLHE on four tables at $50/$100.
Yesterday, Negreanu competed on
PokerStars against another Team PokerStars Pro, Randy ''nanonoko'' Lew, on four 5/10 NLHE tables, playing a total of 2500 hands - the exact same number of hands as in the SuperStar Showdown challenge.
The combat on Saturday finished with a small victory for Randy Lew. The Canadian was set back $850, less than a single buy-in at these stakes.
According to Daniel Negreanu’s
Twitter blog he did not mind the defeat, but was just glad to have completed the longest online session of his career.
"I did it! 2501 hands vs the fastest player on the net, Nanonoko, and I won! I think about 5k but will know soon. Ha can't believe it! SO HAPPY," Negreanu tweeted yesterday morning.
However, the Canadian obviously had it wrong, and just a few hours later he was back on Twitter, now with a new, much less enthusiastic, message.
"Nanonoko won $854.50 which I'm totally cool with.”
Earlier today another pro, Justin Bonomo, wrote on
Twitter that he will play against Negreanu in another 2500 hands session tonight.
“Looks like I will be playing @RealKidPoker HU on PokerStars tonight. 4 Tables of 5/10 HU for 2500 hands. Likely to be around 7pmish PST,” Bonomo tweeted.
Though nothing is yet official, it could thus look as if Negreanu could soon be ready to battle ''Isildur1'' in a real Superstar Showdown.
