The venture into the Italian market comes after Italian traffic numbers have been surging throughout the last year's time following the addition of cash games to Italian poker sites.
Originally, only tournament play had been allowed on the ring-fenced Italian
poker sites, but in July 2011 legislation was changed to allow cash games, too.
The addition of the popular cash games came with limitations on deposits and limits, but has been a huge success nonetheless.
According to
Pokerfuse, the market in Italy now counts for a full 10% of the global cash game traffic.
The expansion into Italy will mark yet another ambitious move from PKR, who has been busy building its online presence and adding new high profile players to its pro team throughout the past 12 months.
The biggest addition was undoubtedly Triple Crown winner Jack Cody, who was signed as the site's newest star earlier this year.
