PokerStars launches mobile Android client in Spain
PokerStars has rolled out its mobile real-money client to users in Spain. The client will be ready for Android users first, while an iOS version is expected to arrive soon.
PokerStars has opened its gates to mobile gaming in Spain by rolling out its real-money mobile poker client to Spanish players this weekend.

The mobile app offers a fully playable version of the regular PokerStars client with real-money cash games, tournaments and Zoom Poker tables, offering both NLHE and PLO games.

The app was first introduced last year on a trial basis in the Italian market, and soon after hit UK costumers in February this year. Since then, the app has been made available for download for PokerStars.fr, PokerStars.eu, PokerStars.net and now also PokerStars.es players.

Independent
Home of many poker professionals
Some of the largest tournaments
Many satellites to televised events
Highly sophisticated software
The app will first be made available in an Android version, but and iOS edition is expected to follow suit in the near future.

The rolling out of the app will help to further consolidate PokerStars as a market leader in Spain, where the company according to Pokerfuse sits on a 60% market share.

PokerStars was among the first companies to enter the Spanish market after it was liberalized last month. Before the site could obtain a Spanish license, however, it had to settle for a €200 tax bill from Spanish authorities, who claimed that it owed back taxes for operating illegally in Spain since 2008.

The same method was applied to other operators wishing to enter the Spanish market, including 888 and Sportingbet, who both agreed to pay hefty tax fines in return for a valid license.

Not sure I'm so addicited to poker that I need to be able to play on it a mobile phone device. Would be worried about the connection be dropped in the middle of a live cash hand and it would give a whole new twist to that famous phone slogan " Can you hear me now" it would be changed to "Can you see my cards"

I agree I cannot see me ever using my mobile to play poker for real. Never used it yet in the UK so unlikely to use it while on holiday in Spain. Good luck to those who use it but it is not for me.

Well, if you play somewhere else than HOME or just sitting outside playing Poker, so it shouldn't be any problem.

Lol funny comment pokeryall. Totally agree. If I need to play on the go, I'll drag my huge desktop around with me. Otherwise, forget it. Also, I am a blackberry user, so ... not happening. And what if everyone at your table is playing with a cell phone, I could be standing behind you at the mall and you yelling out your cards in excitement. You see fold. fold fold.
Hmm. wonder why everyones folding everytime i bet. Look around, u see poker faces surrounding you. lol Aww. ok now I know why.
Could'nt I get my own cellphone, and use my companies cell and use two accounts? If someone can say no to this, please... elaborate. Otherwise, I am happy this site is not allowed here in the states. Even though it does seem like fun.
Sites for US players should get some nice kick ass graphics for play.
