Highly sophisticated software
The app will first be made available in an Android version, but and iOS edition is expected to follow suit in the near future.
The rolling out of the app will help to further consolidate PokerStars as a market leader in Spain, where the company according to
Pokerfuse sits on a 60% market share.
PokerStars was among the first companies to enter the Spanish market after it was liberalized last month. Before the site could obtain a Spanish license, however, it had to settle for a €200 tax bill from Spanish authorities, who claimed that it owed back taxes for operating illegally in Spain since 2008.
The same method was applied to other operators wishing to enter the Spanish market, including 888 and Sportingbet, who both agreed to pay hefty tax fines in return for a valid license.
