PokerStars has announced the launch of a mobile poker platform, available to UK players from today. The mobile client will bring real-money Omaha and No Limit Hold'em games to players on the go.
PokerStars' long-awaited mobile poker client has been launched for UK clients today, PokerStars announced on the PokerStars Blog
The mobile poker client was already made available to Italian players on a test basis in November, but has now been released to include players from England, Scotland, and Wales, too.
Other countries will be added "soon", the company informs.
The mobile poker platform will offer both Omaha
and No Limit Hold'em games in the form of both ring games, Sit & Go's and tournaments, with integrated features such as chat, quick seating and multi-tabling.
Play-money versions of the games will also be available, as well as tutorials for how to best play on handheld devices and tables computers.
The launch is far from the first of its kind to hit the virtual shelves of the world's app stores in recent months.
Both Microgaming and Ongame
have already launched real-money mobile poker apps for some of their skins, and in December, Bet24 announced its own mobile poker platform, also offering on-the-go real-money games.
The first provider to develop and launch a pure poker app for real-money play, however, was Switch Poker, who announced
the launch of their iOS powered poker app already in October 2010.
PokerStars' mobile poker client will be running on both Android and iOS operating systems and is available for download for UK players from today.
