Rumors suggest mega cash game during WSOP
Rumors are suggesting that one of the biggest cash games in the history of poker is taking place at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas during the World Series of Poker. Some reports tell of a $5,000/$10,000 game.
Rumors about a monster cash game at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas have broken out shortly after the end of the $1 million BIG ONE For ONE DROP event.

Reports about a $2,000/$4,000 NLHE game have been circulating around the city and on forums for the past week, but it now appears that the game has grown even bigger after the end of the record ONE DROP event.

The game is believed to take place at Ivey's Room at the Aria Casino, and to include some of the biggest high rollers in town.

The reports were further fueled after poker pro Dan "Blitz" Bilzerian posted a photo of a chip tray, which contained a whopping $9.4 million in $100,000 chips.

The photo was posted on Bilzerian's Twitter profile, and was accompanied by a message saying "Our poker game is officially fucking huge…"

Apart from Bilzerian, players like Bobby Baldwin and Guy Laliberté are supposed to be involved in the game.

Both Baldwin and Laliberté made the final table of the ONE DROP event, but have seemingly had a taste for more action. It remains unknown whether or not any pro players are involved, but there are reports of a number of Asian businessmen being seated too.

One poster on TwoPlusTwo reported that the game is now running with blinds of $5,000/$10,000. This has not been confirmed by any reliable source, as the high stakes games in Las Vegas are per tradition notoriously closed to the public.

However, if this is indeed true, the game would be one of the largest ever to take place in a live setting, including the much-reported mega games in Macau.

I don't really know why these pros would play these games for any reason other than pride. Like vali1212 said, you can easily lose everything you have in a few hours. And when you think about it, if you're successful, all you've done is take all that the other guy has. I could maybe understand the 2,000/4,000, but if you're playing with 100,000 dollar chips, that's just insane.

I rarely play cash poker and prefer to stick to MTT's and if money was unlimited I would play in the bigger MTT buy ins. But I would never, regardless of how much money I had, ever play in a game like this. I am guessing this might not even be about poker and I suspect it is more about status and being able to say I was there. Some of the names listed have got so much money that minning a few million would make no difference to them at all so why are they playing. Pretty sad if you ask me.

I think it's sad too. Only reason they're playing is like you said, status. Throwing around a few million just so they can tweet about it. Pitiful. I know it will never happen, but what if people like this contributed to something like helping world hunger? Probably get them the right kind of attention.

The article says that their are a lot of asian bussinessman playing. These guys most likely do not play poker at a high level like most poker pros do. So for a poker player to play in these games could mean a big profit because they are not playing all top level pros.
