Shaun Deeb has taken another SCOOP title this weekend, this time in Event #19 High Triple Stud for a $44,200 payout. The win is Deeb's second in the 2012 SCOOP series and his third overall.
Shaun Deeb continues his remarkable SCOOP run, adding another title win this weekend in Event #19, the $2,000 Triple Stud.
Deeb got a great start to the series already on Wednesday last week when he won the $2,100 Stud event ahead of a strong field of pros to claim a $41,600 first prize.
On Sunday morning, he was once again last man standing in the Triple Stud event as he beat the smallest SCOOP field so far of just 68 players.
The field of runners was nonetheless no walkover for Deeb, and included several high-ranking pros like Eugene Katchalov,
Brian Hastings and Stephen Chidwick.
Deeb beat Chidwick heads-up for the title, while Katchalov bowed out in third place.
Remarkably, both Deeb and Katchalov also made the final table of the $2,000 NLHE Shootout event #17, but both eventually had to resign before Andrew Badecker won the event for a $60,000 first prize.
With his latest win, Deeb is now topping the 2012 SCOOP leader board with 430 points ahead of "jacowalter" with 275. Third on the ranking is the only other player to have won two events in the series so far, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, with 250 points.
The win will also give Deeb the third SCOOP title of his career.
Meanwhile, Event #18, the $1,000 PLO, also saw a pro-heavy field battle out an interesting final table before three players decided on a three-way chop.
The deal saw
Jason Mercier,
Phil Galfond and Julian Gardner cash in $114,606 each, before a flip gave Gardner the win, the SCOOP title and an additional $4,000.
