Spring Weekend Series is shaping up to become an even bigger success than its winter predecessor, with 146 players from 18 teams having signed up for the first 13 events so far.
The Spring League kicked off in February as the schedule moved from
PowerPoker and PlayersOnly to UB and Absolute Poker, and since then "ionel1980" has been making his way to the top, hitting an impressive seven final tables on his way.
With 347 points that is enough for the Spaniard to top the rankings after the most recent update on March 27th, leaving him ahead of Lithuanian "Roocius" in second place with 320 points and Canadian "foldilox" in third with 305 points.
"ionel1980"'s team "Lions" - consisting of members "viomar21", "profupoker", "soryn2123" and "ionel1980" - is also doing well, currently residing in second place in the overall team competition with 239 points.
The only team to have done better is "MAMUKU TEAM", which is topping the leader board with 256 points.
Third is "Bayoudawgs" with 227 points, followed by "Vevemarius" with 226 points and "Pokersiten.se" with 182 points.
The league will now continue on Saturday the 2nd of April with a $300 guaranteed tournament on UB Poker.
All in all, ten events still remain on the calendar, giving all players and teams plenty of opportunities to gather more points ahead of the $1,000 guaranteed grand finale on Absolute Poker on May 7th.
A new Poker.org league champion will here be crowned, taking over from "allin" who won the premiering
Winter Weekend Series ahead of "19frank85" from "The A-Team" and "complex1" of "KNIGHTS".
Good luck to all players and teams, and thank you all for making the Spring Weekend Series another Poker.org success.
