A televised high stakes cash game involving some of the biggest players in the world is underway at the Aussie Millions in Melbourne. Daniel Negreanu, Sam Trickett and Patrik Antonius are among those who have been playing so far.
The Aussie Millions has gathered most of the poker elite for its extensive schedule of tournaments all the way through January, headlined by the Main Event, which is currently entering its very final stages.
Alongside the tournaments, a big
high stakes cash game has now broken out, featuring some of the world's biggest stars and cash game specialists.
The cash game is played as part NLHE, part PLO, with blinds of $500/$1,000 and a minim sit-down of $100,000.
The game is part of the Aussie Millions' 2012 schedule, and will be recorded to air on
TV on a later occasion.
Meanwhile, reports from the cash game have been coming from some of the involved players, and especially
Daniel Negreanu has been actively updating from the action via
his Twitter:
"Playing in a TV Cash game w @JasonMercier, @Samtrickett1,
Gus Hansen two Asian biz men and supposedly @TonyGuoga, @Tom_Dwan coming too 500-1000," Negreanu wrote yesterday.
Gus Hansen is since reported to have left the scene, but the game is still running with some new faces today, including Daniel "
jungleman12" Cates.
"Line-up: @Samtrickett, Jungleman, Antonius, @JasonMercier, two Asian gentlmen. Half PLO/NLH 500-1000 blinds. One seat open!" Negreanu tweeted one hour ago.
The Canadian Team PokerStars pro also writes that he is currently up around $160,000, while another participant, Sam Trickett, used
his Twitter to reveal that he won $350,000 yesterday, making him the biggest winner of the game so far.
