Stars line up to congratulate WSOP Champion Pius Heinz
Some of the biggest stars of the game have been lining up to congratulate newly crowned WSOP Main Event Champion, Pius Heinz. Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth were among those who celebrated the German's win.
Several of the game's biggest stars have been lining up to congratulate Pius Heinz, following the young German's triumph at the WSOP Main Event Final Table this morning.

Heinz played an excellent final table, starting play in seventh place, only to shoot through the rankings until he was heads-up with Martin Staszko.

Staszko put up a good fight and managed to take over the lead for periods of heads-up play, but eventually he too had to surrender to a well-playing Heinz.

"Congrats to Heinz!" wrote Daniel Negreanu on his Twitter immediately after the German's win.

"Great comeback. Staszko played great also. Level of play at WSOP final tables continues to improve every year," he added.

11-time WSOP bracelet holder and 2011 WSOP Player of The Year runner-up, Phil Hellmuth, was also quick to congratulate the young German and send his acknowledgments to Martin Staszko on Twitter.

"Seems like excellent poker. A lot of give and take, back and forth. Staszko waiting for the right time, but Heinz not afraid to FIRE!" he wrote.

Hellmuth was backed up by a number of other pros, including Heinz new teammate at Team PokerStars Pro, Jason Mercier.

"Heinz is playing really well heads-up," Mercier wrote, also on Twitter.

Finally, runner-up Staszko also received some words of recognition from another of this year's series biggest names, Englishman Chris Moorman, who wanted to know "How much for HU lessons, Staszko?"

The jubilant winner was also one of the first to acknowledge his opponent's strength in his winner's interview.

"The heads-up for my part never really went my way. Martin is a strong player and I didn't make any hands. I just went with my game and hoped for the cards to change, which they did," Heinz said, adding that he has still to decide what to do with his $8.7 million first prize money.

"My family is going to get some gifts and this sort of thing. Besides that, I really cannot say what is going to happen," the new champion ended.

Heinz played really well. He really mowed over Stazsco, who just wasn't an aggressive player. One thing I don't like though, is when people ask what they'll do with the money. It's like they have to spend every penny of it, and then tell you about it. I just don't like the question

Im sure he will be partying as he listed one of his favorite activies as partying. Which player will be first to do anything besides this in the poker world?
