Daniele Nestola last night won the Latin American Poker Tour's Grand Final in São Paolo, Brazil, collecting a first prize of $168,747. Team PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu finished in sixth place for $28,423.
The final table of the Latin American Poker Tour's Grand Final in São Paolo has been set, with German Daniele Nestola holding the chip lead. Daniel Negreanu is also among the final eight, currently sitting on the table's fifth largest stack.
Brazilian authorities have officially recognized poker as a game that requires elements of skill. The game has been listed on the Brazilian Ministry of Sport's website after negotiations with a national and international lobby groups.
PokerStars has unveiled the chosen venue for the last stop on this season's Latin American Poker Tour. The LAPT Grand Final will this time be played in São Paulo, Brazil, during the world famous Carnival in February.
After a strong start, the 19-year-old Austrian Matthias Habernig continued his impressive run at the Brazilian PokerStar.net LAPT to take down the win and R$435,000.
After an exciting first day of play at the PokerStars.net Latin American Poker Tour in Florianopolis, it is the online qualifiers who have entered the stage.
