The World Poker Tour will celebrate its first ever event in Malta in less than two weeks. Tony G is among the pros who have promised to show up, ready to face off with among others Phil Hellmuth.
The World Poker Tour will be hitting the Portomaso Casino in Malta in less than two weeks, marking the tour's first ever visit to the small mediterranean state island.
With less than 450,000 inhabitants, the arrival of the world's most prestigious poker tour has already stirred excitement on the island, especially after it has been confirmed that several large names from all over the world will be joining the €3,300 Main Event.
One of those who will be looking to join the festivities is
PartyPoker pro and PokerNews icon Tony G, who in a new blog post on his PartyPoker blog confesses to be eagerly awaiting a return to the live poker circuit after a small break.
After missing out on the recent WPT Gran Prix de Paris, Tony G admits to be on his way to Malta, where he plans to put his mark on the event in his usual colorful style.
"I will be back and bigger than ever for the €3000+€300 WPT Malta on the 20th September," Tony G writes.
"All I can say is watch out everybody, I am making a mega re-entry into the poker world," he adds, with reference to the newly introduced WPT re-entry system, which will also be in place in Malta.
Besides looking forward to visiting the popular holiday destination, Tony G also reveals to be looking particularly forward to squaring off with his old arch nemesis Phil Hellmuth, who has also confirmed his participation in the event.
"I am dribbling, I am drooling about my trip to Malta, a beautiful island with gaming at his heart and soaked in late summer sun," Tony G writes.
"It is not too hot or not too cold at this time of year but temperatures are sure to rise between the 20th - 24th September as I am about to me reunited with my old friend Phil Hellmuth. It will be the first time I have seen him since the Big Game series in Vegas where I royally crushed his soul and tore it into little pieces," he adds.
"I thought I had ripped him apart so hard that he would never play the game again but the brat is resilient and just keeps coming back for more punishment," he ends.
Meanwhile,
Phil Hellmuth has not given any further comments about his trip to Malta or his possible reuniting with Tony G, as he is currently playing the first days of the ongoing Partouche Poker Tour in Cannes, France.
