Finally received my check from Carbon Poker today for $600.14 issued by a Canadian Bank. I initially requested withdrawal on April 10th, was approved on May 11th and received my check today, May 18th. Hopefully it clears and I don't have to worry about it bouncing. I will keep everyone updated. Good luck on the tables.
Following my last blog post I was on a complete tilt session after some major bankroll management mistakes and some serious run bad. My bankroll was sitting at $58ish, after being around $130 at the beginning of the week. I was starting to doubt my skills and really should have taken a break but I decided to push through the pain today and really focus on my A game.
After a day of grinding my bankroll is back up to a relatively health $86.97 after crushing the $0.05/$0.10 PLO tables for around $30ish. The sad thing is I made some really dumb plays during my sessions and could have ended the day +$45ish. Managed to play a couple $2.20 MTTs and just couldn't pick up the cards when I needed, as was the case in the league game as well. Overall today was a pretty good day and I hope to continue my success on the tables tomorrow.
Managed to tilt off about $80 over the last few days making idiot decisions and not using my bankroll management guidelines. Started off last night losing $20ish on the PLO tables when my flopped straights got burned by higher straights, then got knocked out of a $11 MTT and $5 MTT. The $11 being the result of a rivered flush and the $5 loss being the result of poor play from my knock out in the $11. Today has continued the down spiral. I really should have stepped away from the game but had that itch to play and nothing else to do. Lost another $10ish on the PLO tables and then got knocked out of two $11 tournies which I had no business in and registered for a $22 tournament in a moment of anger. As I write this I am still in the $22 tournament so I will essentially have to cash to recover my losses. Wish me luck
Always here how bad merge is on the river and its 99% of the time people complaining that they got rooked. Well here is an example of this working to your advantage. Relatively small pot of $17ish, but still a decent win in my book.
Bankroll: $136.67 + $615 Withdrawal.
After taking 1st a couple weeks ago in a couple of MTT's I have felt extremely comfortable with my game. The ability to make and be able to trust my reads has been crucial in my success and this is evident in me taking down the $10, $1,750 Guarantee Freezeout on carbon this afternoon. Ended up winning $480 which is my largest cash to date. I caught some pretty luck breaks at the final table the biggest being my AJ > AQ, by spiking a J on the river. My eventual winning hand was a major scare with my top pair fading a flush draw. I decided to cash out $600 because to me that is some serious coin especially as a broke college student. Hopefully I can continue this run I have had as of late and pick up some more big scores.
Bankroll: $248.70
After a lackluster weekend where I managed to just break even my good fortunes have continued with me taking down 1st in the $10.50 bounty on Carbon. Took down $147 plus $30 in bounties. Biggest hand of the tourney though was when I (mistakenly) shoved JJ into AA, luckily I spiked a J on the flop. My winning hand was A6 against 10 7 on a KQJ34 board. Overall I am very pleased with my play as I finally forced myself to start playing more aggressively especially in the later stages of the tournament which has helped out a ton. Anyways back to the grind
Been an excellent week on the tables. After cashing out $115 my roll was left around $45-$50. Luckily this time I actually used my bankroll management plan and stuck with $3 buy-ins on the $0.02/$0.04 PLO tables and continued playing the $2.20 Bounty MTT's. After a couple successful sessions I was up about $20. Following a successful morning on the PLO tables I entered the 12:15 $2.20 bounty on carbon and ended up taking down 1st place for $42 along with 11-12 bounties in the process. Hopefully I continue this run good into the weekend and the first game of the spring series
After building up my roll to about $165ish I have decided to take some money off the table as well as test out Carbon Pokers withdrawal process since I have yet to make a withdrawal. I took out $100 + $15 processing fee. Leaving my account around $45ish. I am a U.S player so I will keep everyone posted on how the process goes. Hopefully I will have some cash in hand within the next few weeks.
What a day. Started off playing the Maximas $11 $50k guarantee and ended up taking a terrible beat just after late registration ended. Had AQ and raised 5x and got multiple callers. Flop comes: A Q 4. I bet out another 5x the big blind and get one caller. Turn 2. Villain goes all in and I call with top two pair. River: K. Of course the guy had AK and knocked me out.
This of course put me in extreme tilt mode and the first illogical mistake I made was entering the $22 $17,500 guarantee freeze out. Well I ran extremely well and ended up taking down 16th for a cool $145 payoff. Biggest hand came with about 60 players left, 90 cash, when I ran A10 into AJ against a super aggro player and ended up sucking out HUGGEEE by spiking a queen high straight on the river. With 17 players left I was in 16th with about 70% of the chip average. I ran A4 off into Q10 post flop with the guy chasing a flush and he ended up hitting it.
Overall an extremely lucky day for me seeing as that $22 easily could have vanished with any sort of bad luck. Now that I have a "sizable" bankroll by my micro standards I hope to actually utilize proper bankroll management and limit my MTT to $5 and under, as well as $2 bounty SNGs and remain at the $.02/$.04 PLO stakes.
Been a while since I last posted, been busy with school and what not, but I have managed to grind my roll up to $24.96. Ran really well in a $1k guarantee and managed to turn the $3.30 buy in into $15. The next day I played in the $2.20 Bounty MTT and managed to pickup several bounties and came in 6th for an $8 bounty. Sadly I donked off a few bucks in PLO, which I am still in the process of learning the finer points of the game. Craziest hand came in the $2.20 bounty tournament with 21 players left, top 18 get paid. The outcome is posted below:
