Freerolls and Madison Poker Championship
So I didn't have good luck in any freerolls last weekend. I lost in the Winter Weekend Series on Saturday with K-K vs. 5-6. 5-6 called my pre-flop raise and hit 2 pair on the flop...lame. Oh, well that is poker.
In the Cake freeroll I lasted a while, but made some bad decisions.
I signed up for the Sunday Winter Weekend Series, but wasn't able to play at the time so unfortunately I was blinded off.
On another note, there is a poker series in Madison, WI called the Madison Poker Championship. There are $55 tournaments each Friday and Saturday for 10 weeks. The winners of each of those play in a $110 tournament and the winner of that tournament gets a seat at the WSOP. I'm not sure if it is the Main Event or a lesser buy-in tournament, but I'm guessing it is one of the $1K or $1.5K events.
In any case I think I'm going to try to play one of these each weekend that I'm around. The structure of the tournaments looks good, so hopefully I do well.
