The overuse of the word "Donk"
In recent sng's and tournements I have seen people talk horribly, and keep using the word donk way to much. When they lose a hand, they automatically have to blame someone for it, but why? It's poker? Bad beats happen on a hand to hand basis. So what if he rivered a card, it happens. Yeah, it might of been a stupid decison for him to call or push, but maybe he was just bluffing? If you don't want to lose, don't call or chance it unless you know you've won. But that's the great thing about poker, you take risks. In a recent tournement I was in, I had QA suited and was playing against a guy that raise 3x bb pre flop. I called and the flop came to Q 6 A. He pushes me all in, and of course I call. He flips over 88, and ends up rivering the 8 and knocking me out. If I lose a hand though, I lose with respect, because I know that that's poker, and things like that happen. He of course starts writing about how much of a moron I am and that I'm a huge donk. Really!!!? Pre flop, that's a toss up. It just amazes me the lack of knowlage and respect people have these days.

I think I've come to the conclusion, the word 'donk' is used only because there is nothing more intelligent for that individual to say...just a thought.

I definatly agree. But even when some people win, they still call another player a donk? Like you just took his chips, be happy! And learn to win with some respect.

Let me tell you, my wife really really hates when she hears me yell donk at the cpu :) I dont type it of course, but if I lose a big hand in a big spot....and he hits a backdoor gutshot :) ...and if it was for a lot of money....yeah I prob will blurt something like, "WTF!" or "My God what an idiot!" LOL....but I rarely ever say anything derogatory in a tournament....

...but when people call me a donk....i just laugh :)

So much easier to call you out than to think about how he could have improved the play or to chalk it up to variance. People always like to blame others. Somehow they think it makes them feel better lol.
