Ladies and gentlemen,
This is the sickest hand I have played in my entire life. It happened in the summer of 2009 at a Maltese casino.
Basically, I woke up with KT of clubs after a series of bad hands and decided to raise 6x pre-flop. I had a customer who was holding J5, but ended up hitting trips on the flop with AJJ.
I don't remember who was first to act, but we ended up checking the flop. The turn delivered a third a third J, giving me a gutshot royal flush while he quadded up, leaving me with just one out.
For some reason, he just checked again and gave me a free river. Well guess what, I hit my royal flush and obviously raised, got reraised, raised his reraise, got raised again, followed by all-in and a quick call.
The Italian guy moved his cards over thinking that he had already won and had that grin on his face like he had owned me. It actually took him a while to realize what had happened because he saw a flush and started to shout when the dealer pushed the chips towards me.
I later spoke to a guy who owns a semi-large poker room. According to him, a situation like this occurs once or twice per year for the many thousands of active players they have.
