A hand worth $150.
Now with that teaser line you all probably think that I made those money by playing cash games...but no, this donkey don't play those high limits
No, it was a Bounty I won on Thursday, in the Meet & Beat tournament on one of the Ongame clients. I won't mention which one, as I'm not sure that is allowed on here, but some of you might know the tour, or will figure out where it is later on in this blog
The tour runs every first Thursday of the month. It always have over 1000 players, and there's about 8-12 Bounties in it. There's always $1,500 Bounty money, divided in equal shares on each Bounty, so last Thursday there were $150 on each head, as there were 10 Bounties playing. But with that many players, it's actually not easy getting to a table with one of these Bounties, and on top of that there's only money for the Top 10. With that Prize Pool structure, I must admit, that I only play the tour in the hope of getting lucky and get one of them Bounties to my table

However, it must be said that the prize money for winning is kind of high, as the tour is a $0,50 unlimited Rebuys + Add-on tour, and every Rebuy + Add-on is put on top of the of the winnings for 1st place. Unless I'm wrong I think that the prize money for winning is either $100 or $150, and last Thursday it got to $257. But still, it's the Bounties that make me play it.
I always try to build a stack in case I should be lucky enough to get to a table with one of the Bounties. This means I take risks as a Rebuy is really cheap, and getting one Bounty can last you forever in that Tournament. It's however very rare that I'm lucky enough to get one of them at my table, but this time I got one, and it was no other than B24 Tapio, which is the Finish Poker Pro Tapio Vihaka, who is playing for them.
I can't say that I've outplayed a Poker Pro, as he was Sit-out when I got to the table, and was until the very end. As you'll see, when the final hand came, he only had 3 chips left, which went in as Ante

I honestly don't understand why only 3 players called, and the rest folded? Of course I knew the big stack was going to raise us all AI, but you have to take that chance, as this is not a Bounty tour, where you only get somewhere between $1 and $5 for the head of someone, but you get about $150. You simply have to take that chance, as even if you don't get it, you can Rebuy, and start hunting the next Bounty. When this happened I had made 3 Rebuys, so for the amount of $1,50 I got the chance to win $150. Who doesn't take that chance? I would do that even with 72o

So a King high Flush send the Bounty my way
On top of that I now had a stack I could play with, and hunt more Bounties, and even try to go all the way. At the break I made the Add-On, and after 5 Hours and 37 Minutes I ended up number 9 out of 1118 players, getting me an extra $15. This means a plus of $163. Had I not won the Bounty, I probably would have made a few more Rebuys to build a stack hunting the next Bounty, and I might have ended number 9 still, but the plus would then only have been on about $10.
I know it's a long story, but it's kind of hard to tell it in few words. It is for me anyway

But my point with the story is, that you must call a Bounty like that with any two cards, no matter how many players you are up against.
