mjw006 is a Professional HUSNG'er from Newcastle, Australia. He has been playing poker both live and online for the past 5 years, spreading his time across all the games (Tournies, Cash, and obviously SNG's). He has been playing professionally since January 2009 and has continued to both move up through the stakes, and improve himself as a player consistently.
This is only going to be a very short entry, something I feel I am never doing these days. Usually I find myself with so much to say that I end up mashing the keyboard for 90 minutes and you guys end up with sore eyes after reading mjw's newest thesis.
So anyway....
Poker has been quite a nasty endeavor for me of late. Besides the fact that I have had other things going on that have prevented me from grinding as much volume as I would like, when I have been grinding I just have not put up very good results. With that said, I am so motivated to be grinding right now and feel amazing about the way I am currently playing.
On Wednesday I put in the longest registration period I have ever done on a weekday (from 4:30am-3:00pm), and the result was my biggest losing weekday ever (-$6k), haha. I would never continue grinding if I felt I was playing poorly. The simple fact was that I felt really sharp so I kept going. It was very much the same story on my Sunday major grind (Monday) with very much the same result. In time you learn that results mean very little in the short term. It's just a matter of restarting up the engine and jumping back on board.
Yesterday I went on a little family trip to Taronga Zoo in Sydney. It was a nice change of pace and we had a fun day showing Madden all the animals.

Today I am off to the cricket with Nat. She bought me tickets to the One-Day International between Australia and Sri Lanka for Christmas, so we are going to make good use of them!
As you might already be able to tell, I decided to not go to Adelaide for the Poker Zone Cup. I just didn't see it being worth my time after thinking about it, as well as the other huge factor of me being super motivated to grind online at the moment. I know that I have APPT Seoul coming up in 2.5 weeks, but I haven't really thought about that either. All my attention right now is on my online game and making sure I am playing well.
I will leave it at that for now. I feel like I have fallen so far behind on blogging that I am missing/cutting out so many happenings. I am half way through my Aussie Millions Main Event re-cap, so hopefully I will complete that/get it up early next week. I still haven't done my 2012 goals post, haha. I better stop listing the things that I have failed to post or this blog will end up really long.
I hope you are all doing great, both in life and at the tables!
Matt
