Grinding it out (or not?)
I said I was going to update the pokers so figured I better do that now ...

I haven't really been grinding a ton of volume this month. Usually I play 650-800 tournies per month, but this month I am only a touch over 200 games and we're half way through the month. I know that I will be taking some time off through the Christmas period so it is a little annoying to me that I haven't played a lot. In saying that, it's just the way things have gone, it is a busy time of the year and I have been working on a lot of other things so it really should be expected.

I haven't really booked any significant results in the past week or so either. I had a 4th (2700 runners) in the Pokerstars $11+r for $5k'ish and a couple of small 4 fig scores scattered here and there, but overall it's been a slightly losing past week or so. I probably had the worst Sunday I have had in a little while, dumping $6k+, so that certainly didn't contribute well to the cause.

I have felt really great about my grind though. The fact that I have been playing a lot less has meant that I have been really excited to grind when I do get a chance. Not that I don't usually enjoy grinding, I do, but being fresh and enthusiastic about each session is a bit different to just doing it day in and out.

The benefit of my lower volume has been catching up on a bunch of other obligations. I am almost completely up to date with other things, which feels great. I really hope I can stay on top of everything leading up to Christmas so I can just have a nice relax for a couple of days over the Christmas period.

We are also well underway with a new live radio program I am co-hosting once a week. The program is called Konvict Korner and is mostly dealing with what is going on in Australian poker. On top of that we intend to discuss some strategy where we can and anything else interesting that comes up along the way . You can check out our page HERE -> http://www.quadjacks.com/category/konvictkorner/ , where you can listen to past shows as well.

I guess that is it for now. Getting some Christmas shopping etc done tomorrow, then really looking forward to huge weekend grind. The Pokerstars $10M guaranteed Sunday Million is this weekend and I would love nothing more than to win that (me and the other 50,000+ people). Hope you are all doing well!

Matt

Darn if you're playing 650-800 tournies a month my first question would be do you ever sleep lol that's like at least 20 or more tournies per day. Sorry you didn't have a good week but overall for the year how would you say you have done in the win column. Also I do follow you on twitter just to see what's your up to.
Alright no poker talk here I wanted to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year. I'm sure your son is really excited and to me Christmas is all about kids anyway. Happy Holidays, Potstealer-Joe

Good luck with everything going on in your life, and Merry Christmas! I enjoy your blogs, and how much thought goes into it. If you look at mine, you'll see why I do. One thing non related though, how do you get the site to save the format of your blogs (i.e. paragraph spacing) It always mushes mine all together, doesn't look very good, and I'm sure hard to read (if read at all).

I have the same problem max. I use google chrome and it's the only browser that gives me problems for some reason...

Shift + Enter seems to work best for me when starting new paragraphs or new lines .

Hey Max, thanks and hope you have a great Christmas period!

I just type my blogs out and click post so not rly sure why you have probs. In the past if I cross-post my blog here from its other location, it gets all mushy and i have to edit -> re-post and it usually clears it up.

How long does that tourney last if you were to make it to the final table? It must be like a 24 hour event, right?
