Sunday Saves and Stomach Bugs
Was such a bizarre way that my Sat/Sun/Mon went last week. I have already filled you guys in on the joys of my Saturday and Sunday grinds last week, and Monday turned out no different at all. With Monday (Sunday)being the big day of the week it is always annoying to get through to 9am or so(starting at 2-3am) and be staring right down the barrel of $6-$8k worth of losses for the day after busting all the majors. I was looking at a -$6k day on Monday, and decided to register a bit later than I usually do of a Monday because I still felt I was playing well. Once again, this turned out to be a good decision as the very last thing I registered I managed to win for $10.3k.It was the $55-rebuy (big antes) on Stars, a tourney I have had a lot of success in the past in. It was a really nice feeling to turn my day around so dramatically, and although we are all looking for that big score of a Monday, I will take winning sessions any Monday it presents itself.

That night Nat was not feeling very well and when I woke up at around 4:30am the next morning, I also was not feeling very well. Nat was already in the lounge room after having spent the night throwing up and it was clear when she described the symptoms that I was in for a similar fate. I thought I’d try to be tough and register a few things anyway and hope my case was only mild, but this turned out to be a bad decision. I got some stacks going in the Big $109 and the $22+ rebuy 6-max action hour (my favourite tourney) on Stars, before right on cue I had to run back and forth to the toilet to release whatever it was inside my stomach. This pretty abruptly ended any chance I had of getting anything done for the day, so I spent the rest of the day feeling sorry for myself and sleeping it off. I don’t think I have spent as many hours asleep in a single day as I did on Tuesday, in a very long time, if ever.

Luckily for us it seems it was only a 24-36 hour bug, with some mild lingering after effects today. I played a very short session this morning in which I never really got anything going, but have achieved a decent amount in regards to little bits and pieces away from the virtual felt this afternoon/tonight. I got a free video recorded for the site as well as tidying up an article and player profile I have been meaning to get done for some time. It’s really late at the moment here, I am never awake at this time of night, but I guess all the sleep yesterday has messed me up. I will probably take tomorrow off to reset myself and jump back into the grind on Friday. Probably not the best way to start a monthly PLB teams challenge I am participating in (Pocket Fives November TLB Contest). It is the first time I have gotten involved in something like this, but it should be a little bit of fun and extra motivation to grind hard for the rest of the month.

I have a lot more work coming up with the site and in general so keep watching this space to keep up to date, or follow me on twitter(@mjw006) where I will also be remaining very active. Thanks to everyone for the support so far and for following my blog/progress, I appreciate it. Hope you’re all playing well and running well!!! GL in your games!

Matt
