mjw006 is a Professional HUSNG'er from Newcastle, Australia. He has been playing poker both live and online for the past 5 years, spreading his time across all the games (Tournies, Cash, and obviously SNG's). He has been playing professionally since January 2009 and has continued to both move up through the stakes, and improve himself as a player consistently.
It has only been 6 days since my last blog but I feel like I have so much to catch up on, haha. I guess that is probably better than having nothing to talk about, but in saying that I don't really want to spend the next 4 hours writing a blog either (besides the fact no one wants to read a 20000 word essay). So where to start..?
A natural place to start is poker I guess (given that this is a poker blog and all). November was a winning month for me... It started fantastic with an 18k and 25k score in the first week, turned ugly through the middle of the month, then finished with a mild recovery. All-in-all it looked something like this.
Sharkscope is never 100% accurate as it doesn't take into account all of my rebuys etc (just an average, and I'm a spewtard i n rebuy periods on average ;-)). Overall though, I have no real grounds to complain.
So far I have played two sessions for December and have felt really unsettled. I managed to get a win in the LOLgame $50+r today for $8.5k, which to be honest is probably an unfair reflection on how I have played. I just feel a little burnt out at the moment with a lot of stuff going on so plan on taking the weekend off poker, getting some other things out of the way + legit downtime, and coming back really fresh for my Monday grind.
Besides the patchy grinding I have been putting in, I have also done a couple of interviews, coaching, and work on some videos. I have probably overloaded myself a little with the free leakfinders and stuff but hopefully I can just bink them all off tomorrow and have a bit of weight lifted off me in that regard.
By no means am I saying that I regret taking on so much of a workload. I am really enjoying all of the challenges this period is providing me and it is a lot of fun to interact with the community in the way I have been lately. Working on so many projects at once certainly keeps my mind busy, and trying to balance between husng and mtt content/mindsets has provided me with a different experience (certainly a challenging one).
I have released the first leakfinder for my
free leakfinder giveaway on husng.com, and it can be found
HERE. Kanitey was a fun person to review because he was playing $100 stakes as his regular game. The most interesting part was just that he has really solid fundamentals but needs to open up a bit and play less card dependently to take the next step into the higher stakes. It is really rewarding to be able to offer him some insight and hopefully he takes it on and is able to launch into the higher stakes a better player for it all.
Last but not least, I did an interview with Quadjacks Poker Radio on Wednesday. You can check out the interview
HERE (Please ignore the horrendous photo posted of me). The guys over at Quadjacks (Marco and Zak) are good guys and I have been enjoying their show since Black Friday. I am obviously a no-name guest next to their usual names like Negreanu, Esfandiari, Hellmuth etc, so I am really grateful that they wanted to have a chat with me. It was a really fun interview where we covered a lot of topics so if you have a spare hour to kill than def check it out.
Within the next couple of days I will also be able to link up an interview/feature article done on me for PocketFives.com, as well as a couple of MTT videos I am releasing. Sooooo, I guess I will leave it at that for now. As you can hopefully see, I'm not lying when I say I am keeping busy, haha.I hope you guys are all doing great and crushing! Happy December!
Finally Summer is here!!!!
