What's wrong?
What's wrong with the world today? I mean with the recent Colorado theater tragedy... Obviously something must be done regarding guns control here (in the world). I mean why someone would need an AR15 rifle for self defense? With 100 rounds magazines? What's the reasoning behind it? To defend against the chinese army? AR15 being, primarily, an assault and high power rifle.

One more (negative) example: that poor fellow that responded, some months ago, to police knocking (wrongfully) his door, armed with such weapon; he prompted deadly response from the cops. Innocently.

Another thing, don't take me wrong, I'm not blaming on americans. America was/is the leading world nation, and for some time this kind of indiscriminate shooting was the trademerk of America: any disgruntled employee, used to take a gun and "erase" his past. From here on, copycats were everywhere; last one: Norway.

I'm not US citizen, my country allowed (small) guns to civil ownership like 20 years ago, mostly gas variants or balls/rubber bullets. But the use of those is not at all common, nor the mentality to defend against (duck/hide), when we hear some cop used his gun (that like 2 times in a whole year the whole country, to stop some thug fleeing) it's the exception. The only kills we hear by fire arms are hunting accidents or suicides. All those because of a no-gun mentality.

I think ya hit the nail on the head with "a no-gun mentality"....

when a kid with psychiatric history can buy a semi automatic without showing any id or licence at a legal buckshee gun fair i think the usa needs to ask itself some serious questions....

but its their right to bear arms....its an industry...and it keeps the population more afraid, hence easier to control...cant see it changing.....sadly...

but hey ho...its not my country...good luck to all americans in dodgin the loonies with guns .

dont know about the rest of the world...but i heard of only 4 gun murders in germany last year...it happens...and we had a loony killin kids in a school a coupla years back...but it doesnt happen with such regularity as in the states....

gun crime in the uk is pretty low...(outside inter-gang warfare)....and if criminals want to shoot eachother....great...give em a discount on the bullets...lol...

the ( beat) police dont even carry guns in the uk ...although they do carry them in their cars very often.

That's one of the messed up things about America. 40-45% of US households have a gun in their house. Approx 250 million guns are owned by Americans or approx 90 guns per 100 citizens. That's a lot of firepower. That's the equivalent of each Canadian, regardless of age, owning 8 guns each. Or 12 guns per Romanian citizen. Crazy. Forget about the US military -- American citizens, as militia, can go to war just based on those numbers!

In Spain is difficult to have a gun, i thing is betther no permission

But i think the solution is in each one of us, removing a presser and discriminating society. Mor happiness = less crime

Yo know that a perso with anxiety or stress, sufeer les if people around him also suffer? It could be the cause of wars in the world.

We are a violent country. Just look at american TV. You can see a dozen people killed on TV in any one evening, but heaven forbid that they should show a boob. Our priorities are all screwed up. And as long as our priorities are screwed up, shootings like what happened in Colorado will continue to happen.
