Little about me.
Well my name is Jake and I'm 29 years old. I'm originally from a Ohio, but I've lived in a little small town in WV ever since I could remember. I grew up shooting pool and playing poker. I started shooting pool and playing poker when I was around 13 and I made a living hustling pool from when I was 19 until I was about 24. By that time i grew tired of it though and I realized that even though I'm really good at pool I will never be the male version of Allison Fisher. And I was so well known that it was hard to get games to make a living at it in this state anymore.
That is when I got a job and really started focusing on poker. I started out playing holdem cash games and then later moved to only playing tournaments and stud. Stud has a lot of swings but it is in my opinion a much easier game to beat then holdem. The rake is crazy if you multi table high stakes.
Since Black Friday though I've pretty much gave up on internet poker though. I still play, but the money just isn't there like it used to be for US players. The tournaments are now so much harder to beat because they are full of nothing but US players who used to make a tidy profit before Black Friday.
Now I pretty much just dabble because merge in my opinion sucks. Their support is by far the worst I've ever seen and the cash outs take forever. So I just really don't see the point in getting a bunch of money tied up in a site that i honestly don't like or trust. I pretty much play the freerolls there now and the fun steps just to pass the time.
I also play on a site called Pureplay which is a membership site. It is full of donkeys and you will take more sick beats by rags on the river then you can imagine, but they always pay and I always win more then the 25 dollars a month for the membership. So I guess for now that is where I'm at as far as online poker goes.
I still play live all the time though normally at least 2 days a week.I've always like live poker better anyway. It is just so much more enjoyable for me and the game is so much easier to me face to face. Anyway hope I didn't bore you to death

Welcome to the org jake. Pretty crazy you hustled pool for a living. Would you pretend you suck or let peple beat you? And then dominate them when you played for cash? Pretty interested in the hustle game lol

Pretty much you just play as good as you need to play in order to win. I mean if you are playing somebody you know isn't going to run out on you and you can run out there is no need to run out. That guy is going to quit playing if you do that. The key is always doing just enough to win
