The definition of the word "outs" is how many cards there are left in the deck that can improve your hand. You cannot only assume that there are nine outs because a flush is not the only way to win. The exact term is possible outs and outs, but both fall under the same category. There is also a reason why books will say "how many outs do you have to hit the flush" and not just "how many outs do you have to win vs X".

You will even see this on TV shows like WSOP, EPT, WPT, The Big Game and so on, where they include these backdoor outs.

I deleted your latest quiz because it was not correct. You don't have 9 outs, but 11. If two aces come on the turn and river, you get a higher full house, AAATT vs AATTT.
