I finally won my 2nd event on Saturday April 28, 2012 In the poker.org Winter Series II League. With 90 runners and 22 teams on that day. It was an epic win I must add too. I sucked out on alot people to get my victory. I even took some myself. I had a good run of cards late after the 2nd break. And on top of that, my team KNIGHTS did very good winning 2nd. We had 7 members play, with 5 of us went deep.

My luck began at hand 55 when I sucked out with vs I spiked an on the river to win a $3427 pot. That hand can be seen >> here <<

I made some hard to fold hands along the way. Like this one on hand #89 where I had in the SB. I ususally play this, but my gut feeling told me to fold. It was a good fold. I would have lost against if I had called. Here is that hand >> here <<

Moving along to the final table., I finally get there with team mate BRADYboy. I manage to build my stack to $15,377 avoiding some badbeats if I had called some of the good hands I folded. Here is the chip stack at the final table with ten players.
  1. emk4976- $50,429
  2. twinkies777- $29,810
  3. graven29-$24,078
  4. 6betur5bet-$18,153
  5. ROYALKNIGHT-$15,377
  6. pocketaces240-$13,774
  7. jondal-$11,389
  8. BRADYboy3-$7296
  9. Shice T-$6960
  10. BulDawg-$2734

I didnt think I had a chance looking at the stacks compared to mines. I did not recognize three names, so when I went to look at thier profile, I saw it was their first time playing. Thats amazing getting to the final table on thier first try in our poker league.

Bulldawg was the first to go out when his got sucked out to Shice T hitting a straight on the river. BRADYboy went out shortly after that hand.
graven29 picked up a good stack after taking out twinkies777 when his held up over but shortstack SHICE T won the side pot in 3 way action. That hand can been seen >> here <<

I ran into the kitchen and went to get me something to drink. But I was too late when my hand timed out and folded . Boy was I pissed. I had good position to shove allin. Here is that folded hand >>here <<

My stack was shrinking while some others were building. I finally got a playable hand with and went allin with $7,077. There were six of us left and I was in last place. My hand holds up flopping a pair. I nearly triple up with the pot and blinds at 20K. >> Here << is that hand

Sitting in last place again with 20K, with 5 of us left at this point I make a brave move and shove allin with against emk4976 monster stack 70K. He snap calls with in the BB. He flops an . I have a nut flush draw and hit a heart on the turn to win the hand and double up. I can just imagine how pissed off he is at this moment. At the same time I was yelling wooooooohooooooooo ( ). That hand is >> here << That put me in 2nd place chip lead with 45K stack.

Here is the Chip stacks on our third break
  1. emk4976-$49,247
  2. graven29- $46,168
  3. ROYALKNIGHT- $46,158
  4. 6betur5bet- $22,603
  5. pocketaces240- $15,824

As we resume after the break, 6betur5bet blinds out. The four of us were nearly dead even with at least 42K. There was four of us left until I had this hand vs . I flop 2 pair to take out graven29 and double my stack to 79K. The hand is >> here <<

It came down to three and another one of my suck out hands to take pocketaces240 out. He had vs . He flopped a nut straight and I hit trips on the turn, and made a full house on the river. The board was ( SICK BEAT THERE ) That hand is .>>here. <<

Now its heads up. I am with a 3 to 1 chip lead with 136K vs 40K. Moving along to the final hand. vs . I flop trips and hitting a full house on the river. It was a tuff battle with the players at the final. But that day was my day, as I was getting good hands and sucking out on a few good hands. That hand is >> here <<

I was excited to win my 2nd gold and my team winning Silver. As a team we moved up to 2nd in the Hall of Fame with 22 team trophies. My team members finished.>> Here << is that days event.
  • ROYALKNIGHT- 1st
  • BRADYboy- 9th
  • LeanAndMean- 12th
  • gametime74- 13th
  • KarmaKing- 16th
  • jimmyd1953poker- 56th

I went to Harrah's casino last night and decided to play some 1/5 No Limit since the badbeat jackpot is around 30K. I bought in for $300 which is all I was gonna risk this session. The average table stacks was around $500. After playing for 2 hours going back and forth and I get stack up to $500. Then the worst thing just happen to me.

I been watching the guy to my right playing some what tight. I am in seat #3 and he was in seat #2. Guy in seat #7 was a semi loose aggressive player. I knew the guy in #7 seat like some action and would raise often in any position. And in showdowns he would show medium pocket pairs.

Here is how this action went down that made me call it the night. Blinds out I am on the button. Guy in #2 seat raises UTG to $75. Guy in the cutoff calls. Me in the BB with AK raise $175 Seat #2 calls. Now the guy in the cutoff position sits there for 4 minutes thinking and starts talking away, blah, blah blah. Then looks at our stacks. At that moment I said this guy is gonna shove to take the blinds. Well he did go allin $445. That was all is money. I was furious putting him on pocket QQ. I instanst call leaving me less than $62. I shudda have just sent that in the pot too. lol. The gut UTG sits there a few minutes hesitating to call. Knowing he liked the action and has around 1K sitting in front of him. He calls.

UTG
CutOff
Dealer ( ME )

Here is how the flop went. . I checked he checked. Turn I checked again he checked. River . We checked and showed our cards. I was sick to my stomach to see both their hole cards and to lose to someone who I never thought would make a move like that. Guy in #2 seat in the cutoff position won a big pot $1300. He tried stealing the blinds which worked out for his hand.

It will be awhile before I go back to NL. I will stick to limit 1-4-8-8 when playing for the badbeat jackpots for now on like I usually do.

I finally won a ticket to the 150K guarantee. I qualified for the free shot by playing 250 raked hands. From there I had to fight it out against 1165 runners. From the start I doubled up quick. On my second hand I went allin with AQ was was called by A8

So I am sitting good at 6K stack, after all we started with 3K srack. A few hands later I have KK and win vs 99. At this point I have 9K very early and holding a top 10 lead.

From here on I constantly building my stack, winning showdowns against short stack players. I survived 2 breaks and holding 30th with half the field gone. I got to crack AA with J6 diamonds in the BB. I won a 10K pot.

So now I have 17K with around 300 players left. I change up my play and only playing my blinds. The ante is 75 and the blinds are 300/600.I been folding like 40 hands straight. I finally get a good hand I decide to shove all my stack 17K with AQ. I get a caller by some with JJ on the button. Ohhhhhhhh did I get lucky with tah. Whew.

I am sitting like a KING with 34K and in 8th place with 208 players left. I got this game locked up. I just need to finish 150th to get my T$109 ticket. So I sit out from here and let them take each other out.

Here it is. My ticket for the 150K on Sunday.

Here is a recap of our first event in the Spring Series II.

  • Individuals
  1. Auxerre takes gold
  2. 6a6ax takes silver
  3. diubel takes bronze
  • Teams
  1. Fathers of Poker takes gold
  2. HUpokerHU takes silver
  3. PokerHighs takes bronze

The leaderboard is updated.

LeanAndmean was the highest female finisher bubbling a trophy at 4th. She almost was the first female player to win trophy which was being talked about in this thread > here <

The Hall of Fame has some errors so I wont update that yet.

Diubel was the overall leaderboard winner in the Winter Series II last season and is coming off on a strong start this season with a 3rd place finish. Complex1 showing his strong game and made final table and holding the 2nd place title in the Hall of Fame with 16 final tables.

Gametime74 and LeanAndmean from the team KNIGHTS went deep and made final table which help the team with 2 more added to the Hall of Fame record 65. ( Says 64 and in the process being corrected. )

6a6ax did what is nearly impossible to do. He played his first ever event in the league and finished 2nd. It is a rare occassion for someone to win a trophy on their first try.

I made a video of the final table >> here. <<. It is 40 min long. You can fast forward it to watch it if its too long.

Every week I will start a thread for the game event like > this <. That way you guys.gals can rant/vent or whatever in the event thread.

Also every week I will do a final table thread like > this <, This is my results. Not the official one that Guru does with the teams and overall leaderboard. Guru is busy and I try to give yall a quick update. If you want to know your team score just send me a pm.

MAMUKU TEAM came out of retirement. With his team HOF records, I would have done the same. Thread about it can be found > here <

If there are any questions or concerns feel free to pm me. If I dont know the answer, I will forward it to the owners or let you know how to go about it.

And the final tables for the Hall of Fame will be top 9, not top 10.

Thanks for reading my blogs.

I read today that a Florida grandmother has a 1964 Mercury she put 576,000 miles on it. It is the Gueness Book Record for highest mileage.
Read it >>> here

Do you take good care of your car? Changing the oil every 3,000 miles? Buying and rotating your tires every 2 years? Tune up with new plugs every year?

The longest I ever had a car was 7 years. And the highest miles I put on it is no more than 150,000 miles. And I went through several cars since 18 years old. I am now 42.

Here is my old beat up car. The A/C stop working and I been having motor problems. Good thing we have a van as back up. Its an 2003 Toyota Celica.

No Its not an April's Fool Joke.. We are in our 5th season in the Poker.org league games. The Spring Series II has brought many changes within us. Some left they old teams and went to another team. Some started their own team. Some made they team smaller. This season will be one of the most memorable ones for me. I been here since the launch if Winter Series I two years ago. And it has grown and has changed alot. It also has become harder and harder to win an event ( I finally got an event gold last season Winter Series II ) We keep getting newer and newer members that are good and giving us some good competition. We also had to deal with multi-accounts and cheaters.

I hope you all enjoy the Spring Season II. There will be A lot Hall of Fame records to be broken. Maybe some re-peat or 3-peat season winners. No matter what, we are here to have fun, make $$, make new friends, and some enimies, and have a wonderful online poker league experience we can share with others. Dont forget about the monthly contest we started in March. It looks like it continues in April.

Here is a video for yall to start the season.

For those of you who didnt see the game with Kansas vs Ohio State, you missed a good game. It was one of the best games I seen in awhile. Both #2 seeds in their region Kansas from the MidWest and Ohio State from East went to New Orleans for the Final Four. The winner advances to the national championship. Ohio State was up by as much as 13 points at one time. But at halftime Kansas manage to cut it down to 9. Whatever pep talk Kansas at halftime help them spark and cut Ohio State's lead to 2. The final 2 minutes was played down to the wire. And Kansas come out victorius beating Ohio State 64-62.

WHO WILL WIN CHAMPIONSHIP?
KENTUCKY
KANSAS

On the other side, Kentucky beat Louisville 69-61.

I am going with Kansas since I am from there.

Have you gotten your tickets yet? The drawing is tonight March 30, 2012. Some lucky person or persons might get that lucky ticket for $1 and hit the biggest record in Mega Millions Jacpot history ever at over 540 million. No one has hit this jackpot since Jan 24, 2012. The odds of hitting this one is 1 in 170 million. Drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays. I bought $50 worth for the Tuesday drawing and only got 2 numbers in 1 row. I did not win anything. I plan on buying $50 worth of tickets again for today.
