MY AK CRUSHED BY RAGS ( $1300 pot )
I went to Harrah's casino last night and decided to play some 1/5 No Limit since the badbeat jackpot is around 30K. I bought in for $300 which is all I was gonna risk this session. The average table stacks was around $500. After playing for 2 hours going back and forth and I get stack up to $500. Then the worst thing just happen to me.

I been watching the guy to my right playing some what tight. I am in seat #3 and he was in seat #2. Guy in seat #7 was a semi loose aggressive player. I knew the guy in #7 seat like some action and would raise often in any position. And in showdowns he would show medium pocket pairs.

Here is how this action went down that made me call it the night. Blinds out I am on the button. Guy in #2 seat raises UTG to $75. Guy in the cutoff calls. Me in the BB with AK raise $175 Seat #2 calls. Now the guy in the cutoff position sits there for 4 minutes thinking and starts talking away, blah, blah blah. Then looks at our stacks. At that moment I said this guy is gonna shove to take the blinds. Well he did go allin $445. That was all is money. I was furious putting him on pocket QQ. I instanst call leaving me less than $62. I shudda have just sent that in the pot too. lol. The gut UTG sits there a few minutes hesitating to call. Knowing he liked the action and has around 1K sitting in front of him. He calls.

UTG
CutOff
Dealer ( ME )

Here is how the flop went. . I checked he checked. Turn I checked again he checked. River . We checked and showed our cards. I was sick to my stomach to see both their hole cards and to lose to someone who I never thought would make a move like that. Guy in #2 seat in the cutoff position won a big pot $1300. He tried stealing the blinds which worked out for his hand.

It will be awhile before I go back to NL. I will stick to limit 1-4-8-8 when playing for the badbeat jackpots for now on like I usually do.

You should have just shoved with 150+ already in the pot FWIW. AK is not the best hand to 3bet being this shallow here, better to call in position and play post flop. If UTG likes action you are essentialy just setting yourself up for a flip here. With the odds not in your favor if he is just playing 66-QQ the middle PP type hands you described here is what it looks like.

Hand 1: 53.103% 52.90% 00.20% 152172204 588624.00

I need to come down there sometime if this how light thay are willing to get it in, do people normally play that loose there?

Every now and then there is a player that comes along and play like that in 1/5 NL.
In the limit 1/2 and 1/2 games, there is always someone like to raise and strattle every hand.

I do not like games with straddles but it happens quite frequently in Tunica. Another thing I see more and more is shortstacks people buying in for $100 in a 1/3 game. They spread 1/5 never saw that it is usually 2/5 what I see. If I play limit usually the only game running is 4/8 and that is only if I am stuck on the waiting list for NL.

Royal too bad it wasn't like Sunday's game when your 6's held and beat my AK. That most definitely sucks when you hit your A on the flop and the idiot goes all in with a 45 os. You should of put him all in right after the flop if he was going to play his hand that way. I think he may of folded having only a pair of 4's and the A on the flop. IMO you let him get to far. Pots

Royal when that happens to me I like to go to toilet stick my finger down my throught a PUKE like I'm dying.... then i start singing I am a man of constant sorrow....lol...I'm taking $500 with me today to play some live.....when I put all my money in and there is 1 more player behind me left to act i like to say something like "2 outs are all you got I'm sorry I mean need" in the hope that the last hand has small pocket pair so I'm only facing 1 hand instead of two sometimes I stand up and act excited when I call behind a shove in front of me to really discurage the last player not that it whould matter here since the 45 hit his 2 4's

What do you mean by he tried stealing the blinds? The blinds were 2 and 5 correct? Wasn't he trying to win the $150 that was in there? Not just the $7 bllinds. Also I am confused why 22 led out for $75 was this the normal action? He opened 15x utg? seems crazy. All in all pretty unlucky hand man I'm sorry.

Ouch man, live play is so much more fun.and those stakes are just over my limit,I hate Ak ,its the single most dissapointing hand there is,it has let me down so many times.and bad play happens during live session all the time, better luck next time
