Known the world over by her
online poker moniker, "Annette_15", Annette Obrestad has stunned and awed both live and online poker audiences with her unbelievable poker career. Annette Obrestad famously built her online poker bankroll from scratch by playing
freerolls when she was only fifteen years old. It wasn't long before "Annette_15" was aggressively dominating multi-table tournaments at the top
internet poker sites.
Annette Obrestad was born in 1988 in Norway. It was actually her interest in bowling that led her to try online poker, when 15-year-old Annette caught an advertisement for an online poker site while watching a bowling tournament on
TV. Obrestad signed up as "Annette_15" with absolutely no money in her account, and played freerolls until she won $9.
The money Annette Obrestad won playing freerolls was immediately invested in $1 SNGs before moving on to much more lucrative MTTs. Soon, "Annette_15" was regularly taking down prizes of hundreds of thousands of dollars or more. Annette Obrestad rapidly became one of the most prosperous players in the industry.
At the age of 18, Annette Obrestad took the plunge into live tournament poker, with an impressive run of cash finishes and final tables. In 2007 - two days before her 19th birthday - Annette took first place and $1,874,700 in the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event; becoming the youngest player to win the championship bracelet.
Along with her prolific online poker play, Annette continued to cash in one live tournament after another in season 4 of the PokerStars EPT. In January of 2010, Annette won first place in Pot Limit Omaha at the Aussie Millions, then proceeded to earn 7th place in the Spotlight Main Event for a combined total of more than $180K. Later that year, Annette Obrestad scored another first place win at the EPT London Heads Up No Limit Hold'em event for just under $200K.
In May of 2010, Annette signed on with Full Tilt Poker, where she continues to play under the nickname "Annette_15".
