Chris Ferguson
Tall, dark and imposing, Chris Ferguson is as famous for his intimidating countenance as his tremendous success. While the nickname "Jesus" stems from Ferguson's beard and long hair, his trademark western hats and long coats give him the look of an old-west gunslinger seated at a saloon poker game, poised to draw either a card or a pistol without the slightest hint of reticence.

Chris Ferguson was born in Los Angeles in 1963, and began playing poker at the age of 10. In college, he played the earliest version of online poker for play money in the IRC chats. By 1994, Chris Ferguson was participating in nearby live poker tournaments, and entered his first World Series of Poker event in 1995.

After a combined total of 18 years as an undergrad and graduate student at UCLA, Ferguson earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1999. His primary focus was on virtual network algorithms.

A year later, Chris Ferguson took home two WSOP bracelets. The first he won playing Limit 7 Card Stud, and cashed $151K. The second was awarded in none other than the 2000 World Series Championship main event, when Chris Ferguson defeated T. J. Cloutier for a first prize win of $1.5M.

Ferguson continued to compete in live poker tournaments in and around Los Angeles, making regular appearances at the LA Poker Classic and the California State Poker Championship, where he continued to reinforce his growing reputation as a well-rounded player. Ferguson has shown formidable skill in numerous forms of poker, including Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, and more; including mixed game formats.

Applying his knowledge of game theory and statistics, Ferguson went on to claim three more WSOP bracelets; one in 2001 and another in 2003 - both for Omaha Hi/Lo Split Eight or Better - and one more in 2003 for 1/2 Limit Texas Hold'em and 1/2 7 Card Stud. As of January 2011, Chris Ferguson holds five WSOP bracelets, and has earned over $7.7 million in live tournament cashes.

In 2004, Chris Ferguson participated in the creation of one of the most popular online poker sites ever constructed, Full Tilt Poker. With the help of a small group of professional poker players computer programmers, Ferguson set out to improve the online poker experience. Chris Ferguson also conducted his famous "starting from zero" experiment at Full Tilt Poker, where he successfully managed to build a bankroll from $0 to $10,000 to show the importance and advantage of a strict bankroll management plan.

While still an active tournament poker player, Chris Ferguson is also an avid dancer. Ferguson is also famous for his card throwing prowess, known to sling cards fast enough to cut through a variety of fruits and vegetables. Fans can watch Chris Ferguson's videos teaching the secrets of throwing cards, as well as any of his numerous online poker strategy tips, at Full Tilt.
