Viktor "Isildur1" Blom
Emerging onto the Full Tilt Poker scene in September of 2009, the mysterious online poker player - then known only as "Isildur1" - lambasted the high stakes elite with his hyper-aggressive playing style. Forcing opponents to call or fold at every turn threw even the most disciplined players off their game.

Tom "durrrr" Dwan suffered the greatest losses to "Isildur1", dropping over $3M to the seemingly insurmountable Swede over the course of five days. Cole South and Ilari Sahamies also endured seven-figure losses to the enigmatic player - who finally confirmed his identity as Viktor Blom in January 2011, when he signed a sponsorship deal with online poker site, PokerStars.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom also incurred tremendous losses of his own in 2009, being the first player to ever lose a pot greater than $1M, with Patrik Antonius reaping in the rewards with a flopped straight. In December 2009, Viktor Blom engaged in a five hour heads up match against CardRunners coach Brian Hastings that resulted in a loss of $4M for "Isildur1".

The astounding win for Brian Hastings, however, was steeped in controversy when he revealed that he and Brian Townsend had combined their hand histories, and passed them along to Cole South to analyze in order to formulate a strategy to overcome the formidable "Isildur1" - a violation of Full Tilt Poker's terms and conditions. Hastings and Townsend were reprimanded for their actions by the online poker site, having their red pro status suspended for one month.

Rumors abounded as to whether "Isildur1" would ever recover from the multimillion dollar losses, but as many who competed against him suspected, Viktor Blom eventually returned to the nosebleed stakes as "Isildur1". In January of 2011, online poker giant, PokerStars, revealed that "Isildur1" was indeed Viktor Blom, and a freshly signed member of Team PokerStars Pro.

While Viktor Blom's only significant live tournament cash in 2010 was a 16th place finish in the WSOPE main event for over $50K, as a Team PokerStars Pro, Blom is sure to become a regular presence at the biggest live tournaments worldwide. Viktor Blom continues to play online poker under his famed screen name, "Isildur1".
