Daniel Weinman, the winner of the 2023 World Series of Poker Main Event, has signed a deal to be represented by Poker Royalty, the elite agency that has represented prominent poker players including Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, and the late Doyle Brunson.
Weinman, a Georgia native and currently a Las Vegas-based pro, made history last month by taking down the largest Main Event in WSOP annals. He topped a 10,043-player field that smashed a participation mark that had stood since 2006 on his way to collecting the event’s first-place payout of $12.1 million, which also established a new Main Event mark.
“We are thrilled to welcome Daniel Weinman to the Poker Royalty family,” said Poker Royalty’s founderr and CEO, Brian Balsbaugh. “Daniel’s exceptional skills, remarkable track record, and dedication will make him a tremendous ambassador for the game of poker.” Weinman’s signing adds to Poker Royalty’s elite roster; the agency typicall represents eight to ten players at any given time and more signings may be announced before the end of the year.
Weinman was an online grinder for many years before gradually transitioning to live cash games and tournaments over a decade ago, a formula that describes many of today’s elite pros. Weinman had already won one bracelet one WSOP Circuit ring before his Main Event triumph, and in 2017 he also pulled off a rare WPT double, winning the Borgata Winter Poker Open main event and following that up two months later by taking down the WPT’s annual Tournament of Champions.
Weinman has earned more than $15.85 million in recorded live-tourney winnings, including the huge $12.1 million payday last month. Nearly $13.4 million of Weinman’s career earnings has come in WSOP events.
According to Poker Royalty, Weinman also serves as an advisor with gaming start-up RF Poker, and he’s widely credited with creating “Duckflush” (a 2-7 lowball variant) and the “Fantasyland” variant of Chinese Poker that enjoyed a surge in interest last decade.
“I’m excited to join Poker Royalty and embark on this new chapter of my career,” Weinman stated. “Their unparalleled expertise and industry knowledge make them the ideal partner to help me navigate the ever-evolving landscape of professional poker.”
