The conference was forced to be postponed from last month due to the coronavirus

There is no imaginable scenario in which a mass event could be currently held amid the situation with the coronavirus pandemic. For that reason, the 7th Ibero-American Gaming Summit announced the postponement of this year’s edition, which was initially scheduled for April 28 and 29. This popular gambling conference will now take place at the Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel, Dominican Republic, most likely next month.

This gaming summit brings together regulators and players in the industry coming from at least 20 countries in Europe and America. The aim of the event is to improve regulatory mechanisms as well as exchanging information between companies and regulators. This conference has been for years a place to disclose the latest updates in the gambling sector, not only at a regulatory level but also helping the development of business of operators and gaming industry licensees from the Latin American markets. Among the usual participants, there are names like Betcris, Cirsa, GLI, Sportium, Italtronic and iSolutions – they have confirmed participation for this year, too. Other sponsors of the event are MDF Partners and Novomatic and many others.

The event will be held at some point this year – June might be one of the options, depending on how the pandemic situation evolves. This international forum will be held in collaboration with the Directorate of Casinos and Games of Chance of the Dominican Republic (Ministry of Finance) since it will be the hosting institutional ambassador. The official date will be announced soon.

Over 12 countries from Latin America, such as Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Paraguay have confirmed participation. This summit is an important milestone for the advancement of the gaming industry in Latin America.
