We’re continuing our series of articles on updated NFL lines at the Winning Poker Network Sportsbooks. Yesterday we looked at the Super Bowl future odds and today we’re drilling down with just the AFC.
Here are the top-10 favorites:
1. Kansas City Chiefs (+238)
2. Baltimore Ravens (+238)
3. Buffalo Bills (+1100)
4. Indianapolis Colts (+1100)
5. Pittsburgh Steelers (+1388)
6. Cleveland Browns (+1400)
7. New England Patriots (+1500)
8. Tennessee Titans (+1600)
9. L.A. Chargers (+2900)
10. Denver Broncos (+3200)
I have to admit that it seems weird seeing New England so far down this list. However, the reality is that the Patriots would still be rated behind both Kansas City and Baltimore even if Tom Brady did return for his 21st season.
Kansas City and Baltimore are the clear-cut two best teams in the AFC as the odds show. The Chiefs are the better value with all-world quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Baltimore signal caller Lamar Jackson was league MVP last year but has still yet to win a playoff game.
The third team in the conference is a huge drop-off with Buffalo at 1100. A bet on the Bills pays out almost 5 times what a similar wager would for the Ravens or Chiefs.
I think the Titans are undervalued here at +1600. They resigned quarterback Ryan Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry was franchised tagged, so he’ll definitely be back as well. This is a team that went to the AFC Title Game last year and even had a 10-point lead at Kansas City. Don’t discount the Titans at these odds.
Houston is another AFC South team to watch even though I’m not a huge fan of coach Bill O’Brien. However they are worth a small play at their mammoth +4800 odds after making the playoffs last year.
