The new tournament series will operate across Europe

A new online eSports tournament can never go wrong during these times in which most people are still confined at home because of the coronavirus. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will have a new tournament series organized by BLAST, a renowned tournament organizer, which has announced the new BLAST Rising series that will be produced by Fantasyexpo, a Polish licensee with broadcasting rights.

BLAST Rising will welcome 16 teams from across Europe, pitted against each other for a prize pool of $32,396 (€30,000). The teams will feature different skill levels and they will be chosen by BLAST, specifically the “ones to watch outside of the upper reaches of the rankings.” The tournament was announced to begin on April 28, and comes with 48 matches in which the best team will move forward, with a seven best-of-three series. This is the first time the company goes out of the top ranks to organize an event.

Nicolas Estrup, Director of Product and Experience for BLAST referred to the new CS: GO tournament, stating, “At BLAST we love the elite and allow everyone to be a part of Premier through the Qualifier Series and the Race to the Global Final, but have created BLAST Rising to support teams and players at all stages of their careers. By giving teams and players more opportunity and exposure in the way only BLAST can, we want BLAST Rising to be a platform that drives forward their personal and team growth.”

“BLAST Rising tournament will be an amazing experience for esports fans as well as the players who will participate in it. The structure of the tournament is organized in a way so it can provide a lot of emotions from the first matches until the very final. Mixing the teams from different HLTV levels will spice things up and allow lower-ranked teams to fight with those better than them, which can bring a lot of surprises and game-changing action. I am very happy that we are organizing this tournament together with BLAST,” added Krzysztof Stypułkowski, co-founder of Fantasyexpo.
