Chip Leader Coaching subscribers will receive regular updates on Kornuth's strategy and mindset in the Galfond Challenge

Chance Kornuth says he's never prepared for any poker game the way he's gearing up for the Galfond Challenge. Kornuth is offering email subscribers in the poker pro's Chip Leader Coaching curriculum weekly updates on his strategy and mental approach throughout the upcoming heads-up match against Phil Galfond.

The 35,000-hand heads-up Pot-Limit Omaha match between Kornuth and Galfond starts today. Kornuth takes on Galfond as the fourth opponent in the Galfond Challenge.

The Galfond Challenge pits some of poker's most notable names against Galfond, a longtime PLO specialist and the founder of Run It Once Poker. In this upcoming round, Galfond takes on Kornuth, the founder of Chip Leader Coaching.

Galfond and Kornuth will play 35,000 hands of €100/€200 Pot-Limit Omaha, with Kornuth coming away with an additional €250,000 side bet if he wins. Galfond wins a €100,000 side bet should he emerge victorious.

Unprecedented preparation for Kornuth

Kornuth's poker resume includes more than $7.4 million in live tournament earnings. He's a two-time WSOP bracelet winner, which includes a victory in the 2010 $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha event.

Kornuth is no stranger to PLO, and he comes into the Galfond Challenge as one of Galfond's most well-accomplished opponents. Korunth's recent Twitter posts, as well as his announcements on the Chip Leader Coaching homepage, gives a glimpse into his preparation for the match.

“This is the most I have ever trained for anything in poker," says Kornuth on the Chip Leader Coaching site. "I am really excited to share my strategy, mental game approach, and more after it’s over. I have never done something like this."

In honor of the challenge, Kornuth is offering free weekly updates on his insights, strategy, and overall approach to the challenge. Navigating to the Chip Leader Coaching website brings up a menu to sign up for the email updates.

After signing up, subscribers can also directly email Kornuth for additional thoughts from the Chip Leader Coaching instructor.

"Even if you can’t attend the actual games I will be highlighting specific hands and breaking them down at the end of the challenge," Kornuth writes in a welcome email for new subscribers. "If you have any specific questions or insights you want me to share please reply to this email and let me know.

"I’ll be grinding so I won’t be able to answer every email but I will read every one and it will shape the content I create."

"Biggest poker endeavor" for Kornuth

Kornuth's poker career goes back more than a decade. He's racked up six-figure tournament scores 18 times in his career on the live tournament felt.

The well-accomplished Kornuth says the Galfond Challenge is giving him a case of nerves, as he told his followers on Twitter Tuesday.

"On the eve of the biggest poker endeavor I’ve ever undertaken I’m filled with a nervous excitement that I haven’t experienced in a long time. I can’t wait to start tomorrow!" says Kornuth in the tweet.

Galfond and Kornuth will do battle on WSOP.com, with the match live-streamed on the Run It Up Twitch channel. Galfond has yet to lose in the challenge, scoring wins over 'Venivedi' and 'ActionFreak' so far. Galfond also leads Bill Perkins in the challenge, with the final result of that match still undecided.
