In town for the recent London Poker Festival, Dara O’Kearney spent some time chatting with Player Advisory Board member Alex O’Brien about his latest strategy book, Beyond GTO: Poker Exploits Simplified.
It’s the sixth book O’Kearney has authored alongside Barry Carter, and he shares some insights into their working process as well as a hint of what they have coming up next. As he tells O’Brien, getting the strategy content correct is just one part of it; putting it in a way that their audience is able to easily digest it is another challenge entirely.
O’Kearney is also happy to discuss where he sees the game heading, as well as his three best pieces of advice for new players. And all while waiting to go and play Day 2 of the Main Event.
You can listen to the full interview in the video below.
Thanks to the London Poker Festival for its help with the video.
The inaugural main event played out January 31 – February 4, and beat its £500,000 guarantee. Jay Patel came out on top winning £79,370. And our man Dara went on to cash, finishing 48th in the ME. (Comhghairdeas, Dara!)
The London Poker Festival is returning to Aspers Casino in Stratford, September 3-9.
