The luxury sports car manufacturer will award a spot on its own eSports team to the winner

Luxury sports car manufacturer Ferrari continues with its efforts to expand the reach of its brand, which it has been attempting to do through the eSports industry. The company just announced the launch of a new eSports competition that wants to find the next big talent in sim racing. The newly announced event is the Ferrari Hublot Esports Series, and it is scheduled to take place in September.

The prize is different for the winner but equally worth it. The best driver of this series will earn a spot in the Italian brand’s own eSports team. The event will run in Assetto Corsa; however, it is not yet understood if the competition will include PC only gaming or if it will also be available on other platforms. For the participants, a series of tests in the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo will take place, which will be available exclusively for the competitors.

The event includes four weekly qualifier events that will run in September. From these qualifiers, the top six players from each weekly event will go to the “AM Series” in October, and it will conclude with four more races so the field can be narrowed down to only 12 finalists. Simultaneously, a PRO Series will take place, as well. For this part of the series, 24 sim racers are invited by Ferrari to participate in the same races, though not the same time. From this portion of the competition, another 12 players will be selected as finalists. Then, the final 24 players will come together for the finals that will take place in November where the best driver of all the series will be selected.
