We're working on a Settings make-over. Part of that is custom bet-sizing our players have been asking for. We're a few months away from this, yet, but we're working on the concepts.

Here's a mock up (artists haven't made it beautiful yet). We'd love your feedback. It's your chance to make it better before it's out.

Bet-sizing button choices:

Preflop Dropdown Options

<checkbox> Size preflop betting based on big blinds. (Default unchecked)

Unchecked Dropdown options:

- 1/2
- 3/4
- Pot
- All-In

Checked Dropdown Options:

- Min
- Enter big blind (Players may enter between 2.5 and 50 in multiples of 0.5)
- All-In

Postflop Dropdown Options

- Enter % of Pot (Player can type between 10% and 99%)

Postflop overbetting these days is common, so I wouldn't make a bet cap of 99%.

Noted. We'll make it like 125%

Im curious to ask why the cap is needed at all? If you must have it I would suggest to leave option to set the betsize to up to 2x pot.

I dont have a problem with 2x pot. The input should have some restriction, and that borders what's reasonable. I doubt 2x pot ever gets configured, but that's not a terrible ceiling.

I believe new feature options should be as flexible as possible from the start to feet all needs, even those we can't think of yet, we know it will be harder to revisit later if people start complaining.

Why not let choose from min bet instead of a fixed value of 40%? And why cap it? Or cap it high enough (ie: 999%)

Again, why not make it flexible. Let's say I want to use 2.21x or 6.65. Why not let it accept an input of 2 decimal points as other sites allow and let people decide. Most professionals use sizes like 2.22x, 6.66x, 2.8, 3.2 etc

If you want to go the extra mile and do something no other poker room does and that I think it is line with the policy of incorporating 3rd party software features so you can ban them in the future and setting a standard, why not add a set of bet size buttons based on previous bets. if the original raiser bet is 2.3BB I want to be able to 3bel 2.8x that amount (not bb). Lets say I want to squeeze, instead of having a pot or BB related bet sizing (that I always have to tweak) we should be able to say 3.8 or 4.4x (or whatever) the LAST BET.

I'll revisit this post later if I remember anything else. Thanks for listening. Let's make ACR the standard.

Thanks for the thoughts.

The 3rd party apps, we're on the same page as you: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=362&sid=b3f2d972018 ... 29ab3fbd99.

The bet sizing, 40% pot is actually a min-open preflop. That's why the lower limit there. I don't want to offer a 20% and then it's never avaiable and players don't understand why.

Thinking in 3x or 4x a bet isn't a great way to think about poker; however, I added it because I know it's widespread. It's not a great way to think about poker because it offers no perspective on odds.

Second RManPT's opinion
Options should be as flexible as possible. eg. X.xx opens and multiplying bets preflop, overbets postflop etc.

Multiplying should have decimals too ^_^

Than you for your reply.

I get that but it is something a lot of people pay for to have available.

PS: I want to stress the need to have the preset bet configuration as text inputs so we can choose the amounts with 2 decimals. Clean. simple, truly useful.
