Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood hosts $2 million guaranteed Main Event April 23-27

The early months of 2021 mark one of the busiest times in recent memory for the World Poker Tour.

The iconic poker brand went to work rescheduling final tables from last year, running a massive Las Vegas live event, and taking the WPT500 online before the first quarter of the new year finished.

Next up on the busy WPT slate is a live tournament with a huge prize pool, in the east coast poker epicenter of Florida.

The WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown is set for April 15-28 at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood in Hollywood, FL. The live tournament festival offers 29 primary events, centered around a WPT Main Tour Main Event.

This Poker.org “How to play” guide offers an overview of how to play in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown series, including a look at notable events on the series schedule:

Tournament registration details and accommodations

The festival begins with what will likely play out as the tournament with the largest field across the series. Event #1: $600 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em offers six Day 1 flights, with $500,000 guaranteed overall.

Event #1 runs two Day1 flights per day, at 10 am and 6 pm, from April 15-17. Surviving players from those flights reconvene on Sunday, April 18, playing to a champion.

The pinnacle of the series comes in Event #18: $3,500 No-Limit Hold’em Championship. This WPT Main Tour championship event hosts two starting flights on April 23-24.

Players making it through either of those flights then come back for Day 2 action on April 25. The tournament plays on for two more days from there, with a champion determined on Tuesday, April 27.

The $3,500 No-Limit Hold’em Championship comes with a $2 million guaranteed prize pool. The winner will have their name etched on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup, and live on as an official World Poker Tour champion.

Registration for all tournaments must be conducted on-site at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. The property plays host to a resort offering more than 1,200 rooms, and players planning on attending the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown would do well to book accommodations soon.
