NFL Free Agency is always a huge spectacle. Every year the top players go off the board in the first few days, and then the next level quickly after that. The leftovers are usually guys who will be lucky to even stay in the league.
But 2020 has been different, and not just because of the Covid-19 crisis. The list of available free agents as of today (Thursday, May 7th) seem a lot better than normal for this time of year.
Looking for a quarterback who has won League-MVP and been to a Super Bowl? You’re in luck because Cam Newton is still available. Newton is likely going to be a backup this year with no teams really needing a starter at this point, but he could still be a great addition for a team like Pittsburgh.
Other current free agents who have made their mark in the league include running back Devonta Freeman, left tackle Jason Peters, cornerback Logan Ryan and defensive ends Jadeveon Clowney and Everson Griffen.

Clowney could affect Seahawks’ odds

Clowney is only 27 years old and is one of the best pass rushers in the league. He had 9.5 sacks in 2017 and then 9.0 in 2018, both with Houston. Before last season, he was acquired by Seattle and had just three sacks over 13 regular season games while dealing with injuries. He added 1.5 sacks in last year’s playoffs.
The defensive end was reportedly looking for over $20 Million per season when free agency started, but has lowered his asking price. The Seahawks are still a possible landing place, with Tennessee and Cleveland other possibilities.
The Seahawks are +2150 to win the Super Bowl and +1003 to win the NFC at Winning Poker Network Sportsbooks. While those odds are not likely to change much with a Clowney signing, their +233 division odds and 9.5 Regular Season Win Total (Under -150) could change slightly.
