With the four major U.S. sports still on hiatus (MLB starts tomorrow night!), sometimes finding breaking sports news is harder than others.

However, there was an interesting article on ESPN today, especially with how it relates to sports betting. They polled their list of writers for the most improved NFL teams. The list might surprise you.

Note all the odds below come from the Winning Poker Network sportsbooks.

#1 Miami Dolphins

5-11 record last year. 2020 Regular Season Win Total is 6 (Over -133 and Under +110). Odds are +985 to win the AFC East and +7500 to win the conference.

Miami won five of its last nine games last year after starting 0-7. Their Regular Season Win total of 6 shows the oddsmakers aren’t considering them most improved, at least in terms of record improvement

#2 Cincinnati Bengals

2-14 record last year. 2020 Regular Season Win Total is 5.5 (Over -142 and Under +118). Odds are +3000 to win the AFC North and +7000 to win the conference.

Cincinnati has nowhere to go but up, and these suggest a possible improvement to 6-10. That seems too optimistic to me, especially with rookie quarterback Joe Burrow having less preparation time.

#3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

7-9 record last year. 2020 Regular Season Win Total is 9.5 (Over -130 and Under +108). Odds are +175 to win the NFC South and +605 to win the conference.

I’m surprised that Tampa Bay isn’t higher on this list after acquiring Tom Brady. Their odds suggest a 10-win regular season is the most likely scenario.

#4 Indianapolis Colts

7-9 record last year. 2020 Regular Season Win Total is 9.5 (Over -114 and Under +138). Odds are +126 to win the AFC South and +1240 to win the conference.

The Colts have acquired Philip Rivers to play quarterback, but I’m not as high on him as others, especially with his 20 regular season INTs last year.
