BetMGM has announced the signing of one of last decade's most successful pros, Darren Elias, as the latest partypoker US Network brand ambassador. The 34-year-old Elias will play in and promote partypoker US Network's online offerings wherever they are available within the United States.

Elias's first gig representing the partypoker US Network will occur during the upcoming WPT Online Borgata Poker Open in New Jersey. The Borgata's online championship takes place September 19-21, 2021.

Originally from Boston, Elias now calls New Jersey home, living on the Jersey side of the Delaware River across from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He's also known as the WPT's most successful champion, having won a record four World Poker Tour main events.

Deal cements a natural fit

Elias's new brand-ambassador gig is an ideal fit for partypoker's United States interests. Given party's growing synergy with both the WPT and with Atlantic City's Borgata casino, Elias covers all the important points for representing the brand.

News of the deal quickly made its way onto social media, courtesy of both partypoker US and Elias:

Borgata redux

Elias won his first WPT title at the Borgata in 2014, and he's eyeing a repeat Borg win, this time in an online version. “As an online Main Tour event," he stated, "I believe that the upcoming WPT Online Borgata Poker Open can fill a void left by the postponement of many live events this season. I hope to ‘see’ many of friends on the felt, as we all try to put our name on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup."

“As partypoker US Network continues to expand, I’m excited to grow with them and bring accessible, championship-level online poker to players across the U.S.,” Elias added.

BetMGM's Vice President of Gaming, Matthew Sunderland, focused on the depth of Elias's successful 15-year pro career. “During his career, Darren Elias has been a strong advocate for the game of poker,” said Sunderland. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to the partypoker US Network team and look forward to working together to elevate our brand and drive awareness for the WPT Online Borgata Poker Open and beyond.”

Elias has proven his skills both live and online. His roughly $17 million in recorded career tourney winnings is split roughly equally between live and online play, with each format accounting for between $8 and $9 million of his earnings.
