This year’s Pokémon Go season comes with a few changes

Despite a minor delay in the process, Pokémon Go Battle League Season Two has become available. To conquer the Battle League Leaderboard, players must compete in the opening rounds of the second season to unlock rewards and start accumulating merits. For this upcoming season, walking and PokéCoin requirements have been removed – just as it happened in season one, and it will stay like that until further notice. The Great League starts off the next rotation as of June 1.

This new season comes with a couple of changes in which players will earn a Pokémon reward encounter once they conquer the third win on the basic rewards track – or after the first win on the premium rewards track. Another change was made to the ranking system, which has been redesigned to request more wins so the player can move up to ranks four, five, six and seven. In addition, rank rewards were slightly updated. Trainers can find Stunfisk starting at Rank four, Rufflet starting at rank eight and Scraggy starting at rank nine. Those players who reach rank 10 will earn a new avatar pose that will be exclusive for this season.

In addition, those players who manage to finish the second season with rank seven or higher will get an Elite Fast TM rather than an Elite Charged TM. If the player collects a Pikachu Libre and Hoenn Champion Steven Stone avatar items all through ranking up, they can be carried to for another season. What’s not changing is the guaranteed reward encounters for the players reaching any rank from one to ten.
