The long, drawn-out presidential campaign that began way back in 2018 is finally over. Election Day is here and we’ll soon find out who will be the next President of the United States. Will it be former Vice President Joe Biden or will President Donald Trump receive a second term?

If you aren’t interested in watching the mainstream media (CNN, MSNBC, Fox News) analyze the Election Day results, you may enjoy hearing what your favorite poker pros have to say about the election instead. Starting at 4 pm PT (7 pm ET), on the Market Mania YouTube channel, numerous world-class poker players will discuss the gambling aspect of the election.

The list of players who will appear on the show include Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Matt Glantz, Josh Arieh, Frank Kassela, and avid Trump supporter Mike Dentale.

During the show, the poker players will analyze the live betting odds for the election, and give viewers some advice on how to wager as the night goes on. Throughout the evening, the betting odds at online sportsbooks will fluctuate based on poll results revealed. Glantz, Brett Richey, and Bryan Micon will host the show.

What are the odds?

According to nearly every poll, Joe Biden has a substantial lead nationally (8-10 points). But that doesn’t mean he’s going to win the election, although he’s a fairly heavy favorite (-165 to +135, per Oddsshark). Trump lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton in 2016 but won the presidency due to his Electoral College victory.

Trump is the underdog heading into the election, but that’s mostly based on the various polls that have Biden ahead in nearly every swing state. However, Clinton was ahead in most swing states heading into the 2016 election and still lost. Pollsters were way off on key states such as Wisconsin and Michigan, two states Trump is again supposedly well behind in.

If the polling methods used have been corrected and are more accurate this year, Biden will win the election likely in a landslide. But if the pollsters haven’t effectively corrected their 2016 mistakes, it’s anyone’s guess as to who will win.

The oddsmakers seem to think Biden is going to win as he’s been the betting favorite throughout nearly the entire general election season. Gamblers, on the other hand, have more confidence in Trump it appears. In total, over $415 million has been wagered on the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

That’s an even more impressive figure when you take into consideration the fact that U.S. sportsbooks can’t even take bets on politics. American bettors have to wager through online, overseas sportsbooks.
