The poker media site looks to give poker players and fans a central place to talk about their favorite game
The popular site for all things poker, PokerNews, has come up with a great idea to create a common space for all members of the poker community. Both players and fans will have access to an interactive platform to engage with one another and with PokerNews, especially for those following the World Series of Poker (WSOP) online series. The new Discord channel created by the poker site allows users to share text, image, video and audio communication with each other like through what is essentially a chat channel.
Discord basically functions as a message board where people can share anything they want with other users; in this case with people who also love poker. This space offers a place to catch up on what is going on in the poker world every day regarding the latest news about new services or events. This channel provides different categories to simplify the location of the content of interest. In a certain way, it works as if they were rooms inside of a house so you can move from one to another in case you are looking for information or just to have some fun interacting with other people.
There is an area where players can share what they have experienced regarding bad beats – maybe even with pictures – or share any big winnings that would make anyone proud and to find out any recent news circulating in the poker community. On top of sharing relevant information, the new platform will also bring a few special promotions for the community.
Maybe this new feature could come as a great addition to those players currently participating in WSOP events who don’t have access to the chat feature anymore. This platform could also become an ideal place to interact with other players while playing one of the events.
