PokerStars continues to promote to its United States-based players the upcoming PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC), which will be held in Nassau, Bahamas, in January 2023. Just weeks after announcing a major Platinum Pass giveaway, in which 40 seats to the PSPC main event will go to American players, PokerStars has revealed that at least six more Platinum Passes will go to winners of leaderboard races held during September of 2022.

The special six-seat giveaway will involve players from all three U.S.-regulated states where PokerStars is currently available -- Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The giveaway will be based on finishes in PokerStars' COOP (Championship of Online Poker), which will run separately in each of the three states, from September 9 through September 26.

The top finishers from each state on two special leaderboards tracking each of the three states' COOP results will automatically win Platinum Passes, which include the $25,000 PSPC main-event entry, travel, lodging, and more, and are valued at $30,000 each.

While winning one of the COOP leaderboards guarantees a seat, however, it's not the only way to snag a seat. The top 1,000 leaderboard winners will receive invites to a September 27 freeroll in which more Platinum Passes will be awarded. The 1,000 invitees will include 500 players from Pennsylvania, 300 from Michigan, and 200 more from New Jersey.

Exactly how many more PSPC packages PokerStars will award through the leaderboard-linked giveaways hasn't been fully detailed. However, the series of giveaways based on September's COOP results won't be the only batch of PSPC invites. PokerStars' US-facing giveaways will span most of the last four months of 2022, beginning on August 31 and running all the way through December 10. PokerStars will likely release additional details of the subsequent Platinum Pass giveaways through the PokerStars Blog and via emails to its American players.

PokerStars US Managing Director Severin Rasset offered his take on the enhanced giveaways for Stars' American players. "At the PokerStars Players Championship, anything is possible, but you have to get there first. We want to give players as many opportunities as we can to be a part of this epic event and our leader boards are a great way to reward our community in the US for being a part of the everyday action. We’ll have even more news to come on further ways to win soon."
