NJSCOOP and MISCOOP Main Events cap off simultaneous series on PokerStars’ U.S.-facing sites

The Spring Championship of Online Poker played out around the world, in multiple iterations, throughout April and May.

PokerStars’ flagship springtime tournament series went for an ambitious schedule on the international version of PokerStars, with an all-time high 306 tournaments on the 2021 SCOOP schedule. U.S. players got their first chance at SCOOP glory in Pennsylvania, where the PASCOOP ran on PokerStars PA from April 17 through May 3.

The 2021 run for the SCOOP hits the final stretch this weekend, as both the New Jersey and Michigan editions of the SCOOP kick off their Main Events. The MISCOOP and PASCOOP ran on a nearly identical schedule, with both series playing from May 8 through May 24.

MISCOOP Main Event: $300 buy-in, $200,000 guaranteed

PokerStars Michigan hosts the MISCOOP Main Event, which begins this Sunday, May 23. Officially titled Event #36-H, the tournament offers a $300 buy-in and a $200 guaranteed prize pool.

The action begins at 6 pm EDT for Michigan players, with up to five re-entries allowed during the late registration period. Day 1 action will play through 7.5 hours of poker, with the tournament breaking for the day at that point.

The MISCOOP Main Event reconvenes on Monday, May 24, and plays down to a champion. The tournament needs to draw 715 entries to reach the guarantee, and the eventual winner stands to collect at least $48,780.

If recent history gives any indication, the MISCOOP Main Event stands a great chance of exceeding the $200,000 in promised prize money. Just two months ago, PokerStars first attempt at a Michigan Championship of Online Poker proved an emphatic success.

The inaugural Michigan Championship of Online Poker (MICOOP), which ran in March, also offered a $300 buy-in, $200,000 Main Event. That tournament drew 1,284 entries, with the final prize pool swelling to $359,520.

NJSCOOP Main Event: $300 buy-in, $100,000 guaranteed

PokerStars New Jersey debuted in 2016, so online poker players in the Garden State are well familiar with the NJSCOOP by now. The New Jersey version of the SCOOP culminates in Event #51-M, a $300 buy-in Main Event offering a $100,000 guarantee.

The NJSCOOP Main Event runs with an identical structure to its Michigan counterpart, minus the smaller guarantee. Up to five re-entries are available for all players, and the tournament breaks at the end of Day 1 and resumes May 24.
