The eSports industry continues to mature, bringing more consolidation across different segments
A new merger in the eSports industry has the intention to bring management to the booming world of eSports through a new partnership. This new joint venture comes from the multi-game eSports team ReKTGlobal that has partnered with TalentX Entertainment. TalentX Gaming (TXG) is bringing a ‘creator first’ approach to social media monetization and talent development by the use of the company’s expertise in the social media world of influencers as well as ReKTGlobal’s presence in the eSports industry.
ReKTGlobal’s ownership team includes music personalities such as Steve Aoki, Imagine Dragons and Nicky Romero. Also, pro athletes Rudy Gobert, Landon Collins and Taylor Fritz, as well as investor Nick Gross. According to Jason Wilhelm, the new CEO of the joint venture, both companies will function as sister companies to collaborate and launch projects together, as much as possible. “The esports and talent industries are exploding, yet influencers are very underserved in the gaming world. Like TalentX Entertainment, TalentX Gaming puts the creator first. It’s not just a motto; we will be in the trenches fighting battles with our creators and taking them places in their careers they never thought were possible,” said Wilhelm. “Every esports athlete, content creator and streamer — whether they have tens of millions of followers or are working on building their presence — will want to be part of TGX. We are going to take over. We will be the best in the business.”
TXG board member Tal Fishman said that the group understands what it takes to create good quality content that can go viral overnight since they are influencer creators themselves. “Bringing our success together with ReKTGlobal will bridge the gap for gaming content creators and esports athletes who want to take their influence and personal brand power to the next level,” added Fishman.
