The top-ranked eSports team continues to score big in tournaments
Season 11 of the ESL Pro League has crowned a new winner. Team Liquid got ahold of the title after defeating Evil Geniuses (EG), 3-0 yesterday. The team is now favored at the North American CS:GO derby with a 1-0 advantage for finishing in the upper bracket, as well as comfortably winning two maps to take the series: 16-11 in Dust II and 16-9 in Vertigo. From Team Liquid, NAF was the MVP of the series, who accumulated 53 kills and only 29 deaths.
The 22-year-old rifler was able to secure several multi-kills for his team, including an impressive one-versus-three clutch on Dust II, which set Liquid on map point. The international setting hasn’t been showing the best of Team Liquid, but they won all three series against EG at EPL Season 11 North America. This victory undoubtedly puts team Liquid as the best team in the North American Region in present times.
Evil Geniuses, on the other hand, will be working on building a new game plan, most likely under the guidance of Wilton “zews” Prado’s guidance, the new head coach replacing Chet “ImAPet” Singh. After such an amazing performance and incredible form that EG showcased during last year’s season, EG still needs to do a lot of work to reach that level again. Last year, the team won the ESL One New York in September and StarSeries i-League season eight in October.
Team Liquid has won a $90,000 prize for the title they just added, which includes a guaranteed spot at ESL One Cologne, the second Masters’ event of the ESL Pro Tour CS: GO circuit.
